Venus Retrograde in Scorpio

The big Astrology news in October is Venus retrograde October 5th through November 16th. The last time the Goddess of beauty and love did an about face was March/April of 2017.
Venus has a powerful influence ruling over two signs, Taurus and Libra; if you happen to be born under those signs, the Venus retrograde period may affect you more. Venus has dominion over love and relationships, what you want, need and desire, how you show or receive appreciation and affection, what you’re attracted to and find beautiful, what gives you a sense of harmony, peace, balance, alignment, what you need to feel comfort, ease and security, how you get on with others and approach give and take with others, your self- worth, personal values, possessions, and money- all territory of the Love Goddess.
When Venus backtracks, these things are up for review. It’s time to reassess your values and relationships, to get in touch with what you want, what is important, has meaning for you and is in alignment with who you are becoming. Values change with life’s developments; it’s even more evident now as Uranus tours Taurus, waking and shaking things up. It’s time to consider if you still want what you’ve thought you wanted.
When Venus is retrograde values are internalized, they’re up close and personal and may not necessarily reflect the values of your peers or society. You may not care to keep up with the Jones’ or to strive to acquire the things that others are after. This is for you to decide.
Venus will start her retrograde in Scorpio, a placement that is powerful at attracting resources. There’s a certain magnetism that draws you in, a depth and intensity. Scorpio is a sign of intensity, intimacy, sex, sharing and being close- this could mean sharing in a relationship or finances. You could examine the quality of the emotional exchange and connection you have with others and how it leaves you feeling. Encounters now tend to be deep, touching you at a soul level or at least you want them too. It may feel like fate or like a love from a past life, you could even feel possessed or be the object of obsession.
You could review your current relationships to determine whether your needs are met.
Venus retrograde has a reputation for bringing former lovers into your life again. You’ll have to gauge if it’s the one that got away or if they’re best as an ex. The Universe is very creative in how it presents its lessons. You could ask yourself, if this person still holds appeal or if they meet your current relationships needs. A relationship started now may be in for difficulty, if it even gets off the ground at all and couples are advised to put off I DO’s until Venus is moving forward again.
This period is not the time to have cosmetic surgery or to drastically change your looks with a new and different hairstyle or clothing, or to redecorate with a new look. Shopping can seem disappointing as if you can’t find quite what you’re looking for or maybe they don’t have your size, or the color you wanted, etc.
Buying or selling may result in paying more than you wanted or getting less than you’re asking.
