The Winter Solstice December 21^st welcomes the Great Conjunction of 2020. This is a rare and special alignment as these two social shapers only combine forces in this way about every 20 years, leaving their mark on the cultural fabric as the sign of the times for the decades that follow.  The last time they met was back in May 2000 in Taurus.

This time around, the Great Conjunction is in innovative Aquarius. The Age of Aquarius is now upon us. This is the first time in 800 years that this has taken place in an air sign- yes, Aquarius is an air sign. On many levels, this can be seen as a passage in our society and culture as the pages of history turn to a new chapter, we shift from the old that is passing away while the new is beginning to take form.  We’re experiencing the collective growing pains as we shift and as we feel and witness the messy destruction of the old ways dying while leaving fertile ground for what’s to come, although it’s not quite clear just what that is yet. 

The Sabian Symbol for the degree of the Great Conjunction reads, “an old adobe mission in California”. This hints at building something strong and stable for a community to center around to find solace, comfort, and shelter. On the other hand, it could also suggest views being pushed, forcing you to change your way of life to keep up with the times. 

This is a new cycle where cultural views and opinions merge with and form the framework of society. During this period of growth, you can take advantage of opportunities to construct your life to align with natural laws, truth and understanding.  A period that will bring scientific advancements, developments, and progress with futuristic technologies that we wouldn’t have thought possible to become part of our everyday lives. The birth of the world wide web was when Saturn had his last go around in Aquarius, and we couldn’t have imagined back then, how intricately connected the internet would become in every aspect of our lives.  The possibilities are many.  As we’re on a precipice, it’s important to choose our timelines wisely and to consciously co-create a reality we actually want to live in.  We could be facing a world where scientific break throughs can be used to further advance humanity as a free society of sovereign beings, with power to the people and access to natural cures, med beds, free energy, clear skies, eco-friendly and sustainable materials and infrastructures, plentiful and affordable organic foods, space exploration and even interstellar/off planet travel.  That’s my ideal scenario, in part. Or on the other hand, you could have a technocratic surveillance state- technology take-over. The next two decades may have a bit of both, to varying degrees. 

These planets go beyond the personal, but they still have an influence on the more individual level. The area in which the Great Conjunction lands in your chart will be where you gain an understanding of the bigger picture, the way in which things work, and how to create win-win situations that are genuinely good for everyone, not just the illusion of such. You’ll come to know just how to apply your wisdom, knowledge, experience, innovation, and commitment with your visionary goals and make constructive changes and progress in the weeks, months, and years ahead.
