The last New Moon of 2020 on December 14^th is also a Solar Eclipse in truth seeking Sagittarius. Eclipses hold a lot of weight in Astrology as they seem to propel events forward at an accelerated speed, often bringing an element of surprise, along with sudden endings and beginnings. A Solar Eclipse is like a powerful New Moon times ten, activating new beginnings in the part of your chart in which it falls for the year to follow. Your intentions now have extra oomph.

The Solar Eclipse is in Sagittarius, the sign of the seeker. This highlights your wanderlust and wanting to spread your wings, grow, expand and evolve. You may want to get to the truth of some matter, while developing an understanding and gaining knowledge and insight. This period could bring up such things as faith, beliefs, your inner sense of knowing right and wrong and your sense of judgement. The law, legal issues, courts and judges also fall into the realm of Sagittarius. 

Mercury is closely connected to this New Moon Solar Eclipse and you’ve likely got a lot to say and want to get your message across to as many as possible. Perhaps you’re launching a website, podcast or some other type of broadcast. It’s possible you’re doing an advertising or marketing campaign or promotion of some sort. It’s time to speak your truth, on the other hand, someone finally says the words you’ve needed to hear. 

The Sabian Symbol for The Solar Eclipse is, “a bluebird standing at the door of a house” symbolically pointing to messages and opportunities coming forth. 

Mars in Aries favorably connects with Mercury and the Solar Eclipse suggesting that whatever you hear gets you on your feet, blood pumping and ready to move and to act immediately. You have the courage of your convictions and willing to fight for what you believe. Or your message may have an impact on others, bringing an opportunity to make large strides and advance quickly. On another level, this is a very spirited influence, good for being active outdoors, running, riding, hiking or biking. 

Mars is in familiar territory due to having been retrograde- now in direct motion-. The Sabian Symbol reads, “a pugilist entering the ring”, signaling that you’re ready for the fight, speaking the truth and pulling no punches.

The South Node is closely connected to this Eclipse and to Mercury all in Sagittarius, pointing to your innate and internal wisdom from within, from your past, and the guidance you brought into this life. This phase will have you tuning in and listening closely to what resonates with you and what moves you. You will know. 



Neptune in Pisces nudges the Solar Eclipse, blurring the lines, adding cover or a smoke screen, making things confusing and difficult to see the truth. You could be under the spell of delusion, caught up in distraction, addiction or victimization, feeling helpless or hopeless. On the other hand, this sensitive influence brings out your more intuitive nature enabling you to tune into extrasensory gifts. 

Venus and Juno paired in Scorpio connect with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn calling attention to your closest relationships and the foundation on which they’re built that’s receiving a major overhaul. Issues that arise are that of trust, support and loyalty, or your reliance or confidence in another and vice versa. You come to realize who you can count on, what position you hold, and who to put your faith in. 

On another level, this could pertain to financial partnerships, shared resources and other dealings with credit, debts, loans, taxes and mortgages. You may need to restructure your finances.

Jupiter, the ruler of this solar eclipse enters Aquarius just days following the Solar Eclipse, on December 19^th – that’s on the heels of Saturn – who also re-enters Aquarius on the 17^th. Neither have seen this slice of heaven in quite some time; Jupiter since 2008-09 and Saturn since 1991- January 1994, other than his short stint this past spring. The last time they met was back in May 2000 in the sign of Taurus. These two social shapers have been traveling in close proximity in cautious Capricorn all of 2020 but the Winter Solstice December 21st welcomes the Great Conjunction of 2020, in the earliest degree of innovative Aquarius, bringing forth the Age of Aquarius. This is a rare and special alignment as these two only combine forces in this way about every 20 years, leaving their mark on the cultural fabric as the sign of the times for the decades that follow.
