The Capricorn New Moon December 30^th is the last New Moon of the year. It’s also the second New Moon to fall within a calendar month, a rare occurrence often referred to as a ‘Black Moon’. 

This is also the first New Moon in nearly sixteen years that Pluto hasn’t taken residence in Capricorn. The area of your chart where Capricorn falls has been getting quite the overhaul over many years, and this New Moon marks a new beginning. This is the area of your Life that’s been stripped away to the bare bones and is now being RE-defined and RE-branded. 

Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, is related to structures and the important components that make up your Life. It’s also goal oriented, disciplined, accountable, responsible and results oriented, with achievement based on merit and experience.   

The Asteroid Goddess Pallas is closely connected to the New Moon, offering her Wisdom and strategic skill as a Master Manifestor of New Forms for expressing these energies, while setting you up for long-term success.   

Although the New Moon arrives a few days prior to the New Year, you can start your Resolutions right away.

Saturn in Pisces is the ruler of the New Moon and still dueling with Jupiter in Gemini – which was at its peak on Christmas Eve. This influence advises cautious optimism granting progress and advancement that’s meaningful, purposeful and deliberate. These two social shaping planets kicked off their new cycle, helping to usher in the Age of Aquarius back on the Winter Solstice of 2020, referred to as The Great Conjunction.  This current phase acts as a testing ground, gauging and measuring how far you’ve come with the seeds sown at the Great Conjunction. 

Another notable influence to watch out for during this cycle is Mars retrograde in Leo facing off with Pluto in Aquarius. This is the second go round for these two, as their showdown began earlier this year on November 3^rd, with a third and final battle later in April 2025.
