The first Full Moon of the decade also happens to be a Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, taking place on January 10th. Eclipses are a big deal in Astrology, like powerful portals of energy thrusting life forward, possibly altering your path. This can be a single incident, twist of fate or a string of events that seem to put you just where you’re meant to be- even if you don’t realize it while it’s happening as things seem to be accelerated at the time. Lunar Eclipses are a bit more emotional (especially in Cancer) as matters peak or reach a conclusion or it may be that some set of circumstances, a particular way of life or even someone is eclipsed from your life.
This lunation may bring a turning point to a situation that began last summer around the Solar Eclipse in Cancer. Family matters may come to a head, perhaps having to do with your parents, your parenting style, or the way one was raised and their traditions. Maybe a situation involving land and property is highlighted or dealings with farming, farms and agriculture. It’s possible that circumstances or conditions from the past or your patterning and instinctive responses are brought to light now as well as issues involving (in)security and protection.
Although the Moon is Full in sensitive Cancer, several planets, the Sun, Mercury, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto sit across the sky in stern Capricorn, bringing a subdued and serious tone. You’re focused on the things that matter most.
You can feel the squeeze as there’s a lot that is before you which requires your concentration and commitment. You have lofty goals, high standards, wanting to achieve big things, and this energy screams “the buck stops here”. Accountability, and discipline are paramount and now is the time to eliminate resistance and the things that stand in your way. Accepting your role and responsibility also enables you to recognize your power in recreating your reality. You may be moody and insecure if you don’t feel accomplished enough or if something is just taking too long. Some things take time.
Saturn and Pluto are just a couple days away from their historic meet up; these two heavy hitters only come together about every 34 years. This influence shapes the entire year, and perhaps even the decade ahead. Now is the time to focus on essentials while recreating and re-defining standards, objectives and parameters. While the long phase of destruction and dismantling is a messy process, revealing only a stripped-down version now, it also leaves behind fertile ground in which to build anew; it’s a time of restoration and renewal. This has very real meaning and real effects over longer periods of time.
Welcome to the ‘roaring ’20’s! Full Moon Blessings and Good Vibes to ALL!
