The Aries New Moon April 20^th marks a rare and special phase for new starts. It’s the second New Moon falling in Aries back-to-back, and it’s also a Solar Eclipse. Eclipses are main events in Astrology, presenting a powerful portal, propelling things to the fast-track, accelerating events and happenings. These are periods of rapid change, twists and turns along with sudden endings and new beginnings. The energies during the Eclipse Portal can feel chaotic and unpredictable for some, so give yourself some grace and allow yourself some space in the days surrounding these potent periods. 

The pioneering energies of Aries have been strong for weeks now as several Celestial Bodies align in Aries- The Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Chiron bringing an initiatory phase and a Big Level-Up.

This Eclipse falls in the last degree of Aries, and close to the North Node and Vesta in Taurus, calling on your courage and daring to move forward into the unfamiliar and commit to new directions, taking steps that pave the way to your future. 

Though this is a North Node Solar Eclipse in Aries, pointing to New Beginnings, it falls in the last degree, giving the feel of something coming to a close, followed by a transitional phase and a new start, occurring in what seems to be in the blink of an eye.  The changes brought about during this phase appear to be far-reaching and irreversible, as if a particular situation or way of being is over and is never going back to what or how it once was. This phase calls for new behaviors, new ways of doing and being. 

The area in which this Eclipse lands in your personal chart will tell which sphere of your life is being injected with these powerful energies and brand new beginnings. 

Pluto in Aquarius puts the pressure on this Eclipse, as if something’s stirring from deep within, rousing your inspiration and originality or a desire for freedom and individuality, forcing unexpected and astonishing changes and transformation, pushing you into unfamiliar territory – perhaps quite suddenly. Situations can move along very quickly, catching like wildfire and keeping you on your toes.

In some instances, there can be power struggles, anger, fighting, fire and fury, so be mindful and alert of that and try to keep your vibration high while focused on positive outcomes for the Highest Good.

This phase carries the spark that ignites the power of the collective, triggering the reawakening and rebirth of Humanity. Keep your highest vision in mind as this doesn’t come without some growing pains. 

Mars is the ruler of this Solar Eclipse and positioned in a critical degree of Cancer, suggesting that your aims are toward support, protection, safety, security and privacy.   This influence also brings action on the home front, property moves and domestic activities or family goings on and happenings. 

Mars in Cancer also connects favorably with Mercury and Uranus, both in Taurus, which could bring surprising or unsettling news – perhaps involving finances, banking, technologies, currencies, costs, markets, economies, etc. There could also be stimulating and lively conversations, inventive plans and ideas or unexpected visitors- someone from the past could pop into the picture. 

Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus just one day after the Solar Eclipse - from April 21^st through May 15^th.

Mercury retrograde is a time to revisit, revise and review and take another look at a situation. You may need to catch up on a few things regarding the practical, sustainable and financial areas of your life. Perhaps financial (re)planning is in order. 

The usual Mercury retrograde guidelines apply – which is to be clear in your communications – texts, emails, conversations, etc., double check before hitting send, hold off on buying cars, appliances or electronics, and delay signing documents or entering into agreements until this phase has passed. 

On another level, you may want to give some thought to themes of love and appreciation, beauty, sensuality, self-worth, abundance and gratitude and how these things are flowing in your life – or not, along with who or what you’re attracting – or not and what thought processes or mental blocks could be keeping you stuck.
