The Aries New Moon March 21st is the most important New Moon of the Year and events will move along quickly and shift rapidly now through mid-June. This New Moon comes on the heels of the Spring Equinox, marking a potent phase for new starts. This is the first of two New Moons hosted in this pioneering sign and the next one is a Solar Eclipse. New Beginnings are in the Air!
Mercury in Aries is closely connected to the New Moon, while Mars in Gemini, the ruler of this lunation, also connects, both energizing this New Moon bringing movement, messages, straight talk and on the go energies. You’ll need some flexibility and mental agility as plans, ideas, situations, stories, people, news or information may be coming and going as situations seem to be speeding up and changing rapidly.
Pluto favorably connects with this New Moon- lending its transformative powers while emphasizing the sense of endings followed by brand-new starts, a period of metamorphosis as old ways, systems, structures, that are no longer viable shift, giving a glimpse into the future. During this phase, Pluto is still in the last minutes of Capricorn, before making an historic shift into Aquarius just a couple days later on the 23rd. This is the biggest energy shift of the year- and quite frankly, one of the biggest our lifetime as none of us alive today have experienced it.
Pluto and the outer planets show generational shifts and changes, marking the sign of the times as it spends several years in a sign. Pluto hasn’t seen this slice of the Heavens since the years 1777 -1798.
Since 2008, Pluto has made its way through Capricorn. This period brought the breakdown, decay, deconstruction, unraveling, dismantling, reconstruction and/or reformation of many of the systems, structures, models and standards our lives have been formed around, both within and without, on the personal and collective levels.
This period may have brought lessons on power, authority and abuse, accountability, competence and maturity. Bringing forth a need to unearth, uncover and get to the nitty gritty – the down and dirty that’s risen to the surface to be dealt with and to eliminate blocks, inhibitions, limitations and whatever’s been holding you back, stripping things down to the bare bones, doing away with anything that no longer serves while reconstructing boundaries and reestablishing trust in some area of your life. It’s been a lot like living in a house while under construction, trying to function in the chaotic conditions of remodeling. It's a messy process, but also comes with the understanding that the finished result is going to be beautiful and much more purposeful.
The next few months gives a sneak peek of what Pluto’s tour through Aquarius could bring, while he only has a short stint from March through mid-June before retrograding back into Capricorn for the remainder of the year. Later in 2024 Pluto will settle into Aquarius for a longer stay - until 2043.
Pluto is associated with themes of death and rebirth, the underworld, and the unmentionable, power and control, while Aquarius symbolizes HUmanity, the collective and community, freedom, independence rebellion, revolution and sovereignty. This influence brings power to the people vibes, whereas Capricorn shows the power and the cracks within the hierarchical systems and structures.
During Pluto’s tenure through Aquarius, we’ll see revolutionary changes and technological advancements that fast-track our future, transforming our lives in ways only imagined– everything is possible. Be mindful of those things that could be used to greatly benefit or to control and enslave HUmanity - you’ll have to use your own discernment.
On another level, there can be a resurgence of inspiration and spontaneity and a rebirth and regeneration on a soul level, a time to face the collective shadow, consequently resulting in a collective dark night of the soul along with a time of awakening and renewal. Everyone is at their own level in this shift in consciousness, but we’re all experiencing and co-creating together and playing our part. When you imagine the life you want to live and the world you want to live in, align with that vibration and make moves that brings that reality closer to you.
Ceres in Libra is across the sky from the New Moon in Aries, bringing to light the need to balance self–care and nurturing others. It also calls attention to food, farms and the sources and quality of your foods.
On another level, this influence reveals personal feelings, behaviors, habits and ways of being in your dealings with others, along with family dynamics and feelings of belonging or fitting in. Other topics that may be highlighted during this phase are women’s health matters, fertility, childbirth, OBGYN, menopause etc. as well as childcare and education.
Venus, Juno and the North Node are closely connected in Taurus suggesting fated relationships and partnerships that are dependable and trustworthy.
New Moon Blessings and Good Vibes to ALL!
